GLK has provided clerking and governance support to Consilium Academies from 2022 to 2023 to provide cover whilst they recruit a new internal Governance Professional. The focus was to ensure their governance remained effective, to ensure statutory processes and documents were completed, and to provide additional advice and guidance through their development as a Board and responding to an external review of governance. We also provided additional support to create an annual policy schedule ensuring all information across their Board and schools was gathered and organised to take forward by the Trust.
GLK provided a full clerking service to their Trust Board and committees. We have also provided support and guidance in response to their external review of governance and the Trust Board developing in line with their growth. In addition we have provided:
- Relevant and up to date advice and guidance for Trustees (new and existing) to support their role
- Work within the context and understanding of the Trust Scheme of Delegation and Articles to ensure the Board remains compliant
- Advice and guidance on various governance models and creating an effective Trust Board and governance processes
- Provided additional support and advice for remuneration committees
- Created a policy monitoring schedule and advised on processes
Lesley (and GLK Solutions) provided Consilium with a professional Governance service for 12 months whilst the Trust recruited and inducted our own Governance Professional. From the outset, Lesley set out to understand our organisation, structures, values and ethos and ensured that this was reflected in her approach. Having gained a clear understanding of our needs, the service was developed in a bespoke way to address our requirements. Lesley was knowledgeable, approachable and skilful in her approach to providing the service, ensuring that all stakeholders felt confident in her advice and support. The minutes and other written outputs provided were of exceptionally high quality and the service ensured that both Trustees and Executive Leaders were well supported and guided throughout the period of engagement. I would have no hesitation on recommending this service to other schools and Trusts.
