GLK Solutions commenced working with The St Lawrence Academies Trust in December 2021 supporting their Members, Board of Directors, and the LGB of their sole academy, The St Lawrence Academy. GLK have provided clerking services to the three governance layers providing advice and guidance as their trust plans for growth. The focus for the client was to instill good governace practices and systems and to create a structure which is ready to grow in terms of the number of schools. We have also provided additional support in terms of policy management and recruitment of Directors and Governors co-ordination.
GLK provide a full clerking service to their Board of Directors, Members, committees, and LGB. In addition we have provided:
- Relevant and up to date advice and guidance for Directors (new and existing) to support their role
- Work within the context and understanding of the Trust Scheme of Delegation and Articles to ensure the Board remains compliant and works effectively within a mixed-faith MAT
- Support and recommendations for Trustee recruitment.
- Upscaled the support to include committees and working to include further schools joining the Trust.
GLK Solutions has provided us with excellent support for clerking, as well as valuable advice around governance training and recruitment. In addition, as a new Multi Academy Trust, we have greatly benefited from their expertise and guidance regarding the growth of the Trust and delegation of duties within the Trust.
Most importantly to us, Lesley at GLK Solutions has worked with us and taken time to understand our Trust ethos and vision. She is part of our team and has a clear understanding of our short term needs and challenges as a new Trust. Her skills, experience and expertise has been invaluable in helping to make our move to a Multi Academy Trust a real success.
