Working with a group of Industry and University Sponsors we developed a successful University Technical College application and have since Project Managed the delivery of the UTC in the pre-opening phase.
Working with the proposing group we co-ordinated and wrote the initial application and have successfully lead the team through the pre-opening stage to Funding Agreement within seven months. We supported all elements of delivery from recruitment of the Principal Designate to development of the detailed marketing and communications strategy and student recruitment plan. We also provided strategic advice to the team and act as liaison between key stakeholders including the Department for Education and Baker Dearing Trust.
From the beginning of the appointment we have been impressed by the commitment, flexibility and responsiveness of the GLK team. Their professionalism has meant that we have made significant progress since we started the project, and it is fair to say we would not be where we are without their determination, drive and overall guidance.
A good example of this is the delivery of the Funding Agreement and Capital Approval for the UTC in advance of Purdah, despite considerable challenges posed by the DfE. This has meant that our project is well advanced in delivery. The GLK team also picked up and followed through a number of key deliverables defined by the DfE in our conditions of approval, despite these being outside the scope of their brief – this included the development of a detailed marketing and communications strategy and plan.
